Catalog description

In this course we will begin to focus on professional skills and development. We will be focusing on "employability" skills-skills that have become as important to obtaining a job as being an expert in a given field. Topics covered in this semester include professionalism in the workplace, professional communication, networking, and interviewing skills. The culmination of this work is when we, as a group, attend the job and internship fair held by NYIT´s Career Services department in April. Attending the fair with newly acquired and practiced skills will help you as you continue to look for prefessional opportunities while in school and after graduation. This course serves as the second part to a full program and should be taken after completion of IDSP-098 Prerequisite Course(s): IDSP099 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 1-0-0
