Catalog description

Student Teaching Seminar is designed to support and enhance the student teaching experience. This course provides teacher candidates with opportunities to reflect upon and integrate their field experiences, explore various pedagogical approaches, and engage in collaborative discussions about teaching practices. Through readings, discussions, observations, and reflections, candidates develop a deeper understanding of teaching, learning, and classroom management, while also preparing for the transition from student to professional educator. The broad goals of the seminar are to respond to the needs of the student and to offer support, encouragement, and insights into the teaching process. It provides a forum for discussing issues and concerns and reinforces concepts and skills necessary to become an effective classroom teacher. Prerequisite Course(s): Corequisite: EDUC 488 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 3-0-3
