Understanding Biodiversity is critical for the survival of the planet Earth. In this course, candidates explore the importance of biodiversity through the study of population dynamics, genetics, and the inter relatedness of living things. Candidates will use field observations and data collections to understand populations within a community and the creation of food webs. In addition, through the use of scholarly journal, candidates will examine the research being done in the field. Candidates will create lesson plans and unit plans reflecting their knowledge and utilizing inquiry based learning. The diversity of students becomes a critical issue that will be studied and considered as candidates complete this course.
