Catalog description

This course deepens and extends the knowledge, skills, and dispositions gained in Teaching English in the Middle School Using Technology (I). The course is designed to prepare English/language arts teachers to understand, respect and effectively facilitate diverse learners in language development, reading, writing, communication. and literature. Specifically, it will prepare teachers' necessary knowledge and skills (listening, speaking, writing, reading, fundamentals of literature, and language and literature) to teach effectively in middle schools. Course work includes current issues and recent developments in curriculum and methodology in the teaching of middle school English language arts. Ten hours field observation and experience are required and integrated into the course. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisite: EDLA 620
