Catalog description
This course will critically examine the role of private security as it pertains to the function and operation of the criminal justice system. Topics covered will include the historical evolution of private security and the ever-emerging role of modern day security firms. Careful attention will be paid to compare and contrast the role of private security with that of the public police. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisite: CRIM 101 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 3-0-3
