Catalog description
The Foundations of Medicine course presents, reviews, and reinforces common and basic concepts of biomedical, structural and clinical sciences essential for understanding and practicing medicine that includes the basic tenets of osteopathic medicine. The course is pedagogically organized to include both traditional lecture-based discussion and a case-based, or problem-based, approach for more self-directed learning by the student. Additional components include laboratory training for palpatory skills, mannequin based simulation training, and clinical anatomical sciences. Classroom Hours- Laboratory and/or Studio Hours 3-0-3
