Catalog description

Molecular Biology explores the nature of gene structure and function. This course will focus on how proteins and nucleic acids interact to control intracellular processes and cellular behavior in general. Emphasis will be on various molecular mechanisms that include DNA replication, recombination, repair, transposition, transcription, translation, as well as chromatin structure and function, splicing. The course will also include information on gene/genome editing techniques and the effect of non-coding RNAs on gene regulation.
