Catalog description

This class is designed to teach students the conceptual and practical approaches to designing interfaces, layouts, and navigation systems for computer and human interaction. Based on traditional design principles, students will explore the unique requirements of interactive formats, such as web pages, mobile applications, games, and immersive environments utilizing AR/VR/MR/XR. The ever-expanding possibilities will not only change the functionality of interactive platforms but also require designers and developers to research human interaction with emerging technologies, perception, and emotional response and to develop artistic solutions that best support the user experience. Students will study the theoretical foundations, design a variety of example projects, and further research new forms of visual communication. The goal is to learn design and research principles enabling students to systematically research and develop future artistic and technical approaches while interactive and immersive platforms rapidly evolve.
