Catalog description

Students explore public architecture through the design of a medium-scale institutional building of moderate spatial complexity, for a local urban site. Students are challenged to integrate design ideas into a meaningful spatial strategy that considers site, program, circulation, structure, enclosure systems, and environmental issues. Phased exercises will demand a variety of representation techniques and design methods including sketches, drawings, diagrams, and physical models. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisite: ARCH 602 or Track II status Corequisite: ARCH 722, ARCH 741
