Catalog description

Investigation of the public realm in our communities through the design of a public building. The semester long problem encompasses analysis of precedent and site, and development of a design project from the initial part through large scale presentation models and drawings. Emphasis is placed on the unique capacity of architecture to convey meaning through purely spatial and plastic means, while also focusing on the comprehensive understanding of building components and passive systems. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisites: ARCH 202, Only declared B.ARCH degree students can register for this course. Corequisites: ARCH 324 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 2-5-5
