Catalog description
The field of AI will fundamentally transform many industries within the next few years. Not surprisingly, AI-related jobs are among the fastest-growing and the most in-demand today. Furthermore, AI has experienced rapid growth over the last ten years with major advances in its subfields of Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Robotics, and other subfields. The purpose of this course is to provide the students with a systematic introduction to the recent developments in AI through the coverage of fundamental AI concepts, practical business applications, and hands-on experiences with modern AI frameworks. Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to: (1)Understand AI’s fundamental concepts and methods, e.g., what AI can do and cannot do; (2) Understand the foundations of machine learning; (3) have a deep understanding of modern AI --- deep learning, and different deep neural network architectures and their state-of-the-art applications; and (4) learn how to apply AI-based methods to solve business problems and how to integrate AI into business.
