Introduction to American Democracy & Citizenship

Catalog description

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States and enter mid-term elections, this course will provide and introduction to American democracy and basic civics followed by an introduction to the rights and obligations central to American citizenship. The course includes an opportunity for discussion of good citizenship not just in the political space but in the academic environment in which students find themselves, and exposure to some of the critical issues at the heart of contemporary domestic and foreign policy debates.
