Professional Development: Preparing Your Post-Graduate Plan

In Preparing Your Post-Graduate Plan, students reflect on the skills and knowledge acquired during their time at CDI and how they can be utilized to explore and pursue professional career options that align with their interests, talents, passions and goals. Students begin developing a unique professional development project to serve as a tangible starting point in their transition to the workplace or advanced study. Throughout the semester, students work on a proof of concept (PoC) e.g., original music, new recording(s) music video(s), multimedia presentations, new business ventures and collaborations across disciplines: such as technology, film, video games, social entrepreneurship, healthcare and more. Exactly in the model of a start-up, students develop and evaluate the viability, potential and constraints of their creative ideas before they are realized. Students present their works-in-progress at the end of the semester and receive constructive feedback intended to spark insights, propel improvements and set ultimately allowing the students to better understand a project's viability, and its chances for success. Class meetings consist of lectures, short talks/panels with career professionals and guest speakers including, Clive Davis Institute faculty members and CDI alumni serving as valuable resources and guides in their respective fields.
