When it comes to healing, where does religion end and medicine begin? This course is organized according to four units, including ritual healing, traditional medical practices, the eruption of disease, and the integration of these themes in the modern period. By completing this course, students will develop analytical frameworks for understanding the complex intersections of religion and medicine across cultures and historical periods, preparing them to navigate cross-cultural healthcare encounters in today’s diverse world.
