Catalog description
This course examines the interplay between private property rights and governmental restrictions on private property, including eminent domain, zoning ordinances, building codes and environmental laws. Different forms of real estate business entities and co-ownership are evaluated. Students study deeds, easements, transferable development rights, and the legal aspects of a variety of real estate related contracts, including listing agreements, letters of intent, options, purchase and sale contracts, mortgages, insurance, construction contracts, and leases.
