Diagnostic Radiology Introductory

Catalog description

This is an introductory 2-week elective that seeks to introduce students to the field of Diagnostic Radiology. Students will be expected to gain a broad understanding of the core principles, foundational knowledge, and essential skills relevant to the specialty through encounters with a diverse range of cases reflective of this specialty. Students will gain this experience through a focus on the appropriate use of imaging in patient care, imaging modalities all clerkship students should be familiar with, and interpretive skill building. Students will also gain exposure to cutting edge CT and MRI technology found here at NYU and will discover the rapidly evolving application of artificial intelligence in diagnostic radiology. Students will develop a consistent, high-yield approach to imaging exams across subspecialties, incorporating a mixture of independent learning, small group and large group activities.
