Research Experience In Psychology

Catalog description
The goal of the course is to immerse students in research experience. This will be accomplished by working in a research lab in the psychology department under the direct supervision of a faculty mentor. Students will assist in the research carried out in an approved lab. Research experience is critical to prepare students for applying to graduate school. A host of important skills can be best learned through hands-on application, including data management, analysis, and visualization, statistics, computer programming, and grant and paper writing. The course does not count towards the Psychology Major. May be repeated twice (taken three times in total) for a maximum of 6 points. CAS students may take no more than 12 points of independent study and/or internship, and no more than 8 points may be taken in any one department.
