Part 1 A: This course is a didactic course composed of four essential modules listed below: 1. Diagnosis & Treatment Planning I 2. Orthodontic Mechanotherapy 3. Orthodontic Research I 4. Orthodontic Practice Management Seminars I These modules teach foundation knowledge for clinical practice in orthodontics. This knowledge will be supplemented throughout the 3 years. In this course, students will learn the fine points of orthodontics diagnosis and how to plan orthodontic treatment according to the diagnosis. In addition, students will learn basic orthodontic mechanics and how forces applied to teeth move them in a predetermined direction. They will also learn basic elements of practice management, including ethics and jurisprudence, as well as how to set up an orthodontic research project. (Year 1)
