Catalog description

This course focuses on the American political system and how it has evolved over time. We will explore various interpretations of the Constitution, the three branches of government (Presidency, Congress, and Supreme Court), anti-war movements and campaigns for economic, civil and women’s rights; environmental initiatives and legislation, the role of political parties and non-governmental organizations, the main factors that shape public opinion and legislation, and new initiatives in civics education.
