Epistemology is the study of knowledge: What is it, how do we acquire it, and how do social factors shape it? What does it mean to justify a belief, and how does justification relate to knowledge? This introductory course examines such questions through epistemology’s major theories and debates, offering insights into the nature and norms of knowledge. The course will be of interest to students curious about live, foundational issues in philosophy.
