Catalog description

An integrated course, Simulation – Fixed and Implant Prosthodontics, will include concepts of Fixed Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and Endodontics. Through a combination of lectures and simulation laboratories, students will learn the didactic foundation knowledge and develop required motor skills. In the simulation laboratory, guided exercises, demonstrations, videos, self-evaluations, and quizzes will enhance teaching. This course is designed with a larger emphasis on Fixed Prosthodontics and will provide skills necessary to manage single unit and simple fixed partial denture restorations as well as single unit implant restorations. Preprosthetic assessment, including periodontal and endodontic evaluations, is addressed in this course. This course is open only to students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.
