Catalog description

The course will provide students with the knowledge to plan and provide comprehensive dental care to children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. Students will be able to adapt knowledge about health promotion, anticipatory guidance, growth guidance including developmental problems, comprehensive restorative dentistry, pain and anxiety management, and special patient care as they apply to the pediatric patient. The D3 Advanced Pediatric Dentistry course coincides with students' individual D3 Pediatric Dentistry Clinic Rotation ( CLS09-DN 3608 ) allowing opportunities for clinical application of foundational knowledge. This course is open only to students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program. Core curriculum.
