Catalog description

This course provides teaching practicum in simulation and clinical practice sites under the preceptorship of an experienced NYU faculty. The focus will be on learning simulation and clinical teaching strategies that include needs assessment, effective teaching of psychomotor skills and clinical judgment, student supervision, providing feedback and performance evaluation. The students will implement simulation/clinical teaching strategies that incorporate the theories of learning and the values of inclusivity, diversity, and equity. Through a collaborative project the students will also implement one of the paradigms (discovery, integration, application & teaching) of the Boyer’s model for eaching scholarship. The students will continue to attend workgroup, curriculum, and other committee meetings as well as faculty development programs to appreciate and enhance faculty roles.
