Quantitative Data Analysis for Social Work

Catalog description

This course will focus on common data analytic methods for understanding social work practice populations, and for evaluating social work programs and policies. Students will develop a basic skillset in applied data analysis that will be useful in a variety of professional settings, and that can be used as building blocks for additional training in data analysis, data science, or quantitative research. Enhanced literacy in quantitative research will also allow practicing social workers to better understand and integrate existing research findings into their work. Students must have taken Research I or equivalent, or have received an approved waiver for Research I to take his course. Students from other NYU schools are invited to take this class but must email Prof Shaddy Saba at [email protected] for approval.
