Courses under this general title provide an introduction to phrase structure, formal analysis, advanced diatonic harmony, basics in chromatic harmony including modulation and tonicization, and advanced topics in rhythm and meter relevant to a particular style of repertoire. Skills build on techniques developed in the prerequisite course, Theory & Practice I.
