New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This course examines music video as a site where cultural identities are constructed, negotiated, and contested. Drawing on scholarship from music theory, multimedia, cognition, and cultural studies, students analyze how audiovisual global media shape understandings of race, gender, sexuality, national identity, and politics.
