Catalog description

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping healthcare delivery, operations, and finance. From predictive analytics and clinical decision support to generative AI tools that automate administrative tasks, healthcare organizations are increasingly investing in AI-enabled technologies to improve performance and equity. Healthcare leaders must be prepared to evaluate and implement these tools responsibly. This course prepares healthcare administrators to lead AI initiatives without requiring technical coding expertise. Students will develop foundational understanding of key AI concepts—including machine learning, predictive models, and large language models—and apply them in practical healthcare contexts. Throughout the course, students will actively use generative AI tools to analyze workflows, interpret data, draft executive communications, and design AI-enabled solutions. The course also addresses governance, risk management, bias, privacy, and regulatory considerations associated with AI adoption. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to assess AI use cases, evaluate vendor claims, design AI-enabled workflows, and communicate AI strategy effectively within complex healthcare organizations.
