Catalog description

The course is an introduction to economics, primarily from a management perspective. The microeconomics component covers price theory, production and cost theory, the theory of the firm and market theory, with emphasis on the practical relevance of these to the management of technology-intensive enterprises. The macroeconomics component covers elements of macroeconomics that inform business decision-making: GDP, inflation, economic growth and money and interest rates. Note: The course will satisfy an HuSS general education requirement. | Prerequisites: MA-UY 1024 or MA-UY 1324. Anti-requisite: FIN-UY 2003
