It may be used to build upon experience from the 2-week Infectious Disease Elective. Students will be expected to serve at the level of a sub-intern. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the core principles, foundational knowledge, and essential skills relevant to the specialty through providing consultations to the adult, medical and surgical, psychiatric and emergency services. Students are responsible for providing recommendations and education to those who request assistance with the management of patients with suspected or proven infectious diseases.
