Catalog description

This is a 4-week elective that seeks to build on endocrinology learning, and experiences gained in the pre-clerkship and clerkship years. It may be used to build upon experience from the 2-week Endocrinology Elective. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the core principles, foundational knowledge, and essential skills relevant to the specialty through exposure to pathogenesis and management of aspects of hypothalamic, pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid, and gonadal diseases. Additionally, students will learn about pathogenesis and management of the syndromes of diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia.
