Gastroenterology 4-Week

Catalog description

This is a 4-week elective that seeks to build on gastroenterology knowledge and experiences gained in the pre-clerkship and clerkship years. It may be used to build upon experience from the 2-week Gastroenterology Elective. The student will gain a deeper understanding of the core principles, foundational knowledge, and essential skills relevant to the discipline. Experience will be directed towards the following: (1) consultations, (2) rounding with Gastroenterology attendings, (3) attendance at endoscopy sessions, (4) weekly conferences, and (5) participation in GI Clinic. For interested students, subspeciality weeks may be coordinated in areas such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease or Advanced Endoscopy.
