ME-UY 3532
Introduction to Numerical Modeling of Structures and Fluid Flows
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This course introduces numerical techniques used to model and solve engineering problems governed by differential equations, with emphasis on the Finite Element Method (FEM) for solid mechanics and heat transfer, and the Finite Volume Method (FVM) for fluid dynamics. The course uses theoretical background for computational implementations that illustrate how numerical modeling supports modern mechanical design and analysis. | Prerequisites: ME-UY 2363 . Corequisites: ME-UY 3263 . Anti-requisites: ME-UY 4214
