A continuation of the integrated presentation of the fundamental disciplines that comprise the thermal-fluid sciences. This course focuses on the application of the principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to the design and analysis of engineering systems. It covers flow in pipe systems, laminar and turbulent boundary layers, free and forced heat convection, thermodynamic properties of pure substances, analysis of steady flow devices, power cycles and refrigeration plants, and heat exchanger design. The class concludes with a comprehensive project that tasks students with the application of their knowledge. | Prerequisites: ME-UY 2263
