Catalog description

This course provides an integrated presentation of the fundamental disciplines that comprise the thermal-fluid sciences. In this initial course the emphasis is on the fundamentals of thermodynamics and an introduction to fluid mechanics and heat transfer, including: first and second laws of thermodynamics, entropy, hydrostatics, potential flow, heat transfer mechanisms and conduction analysis. Applications are drawn from various disciplines such as refrigeration, power plants, and transportation. | Prerequisites: PH-UY 2023 . Anti-requisites: ME-UY 3313 or ME-UY 4313
