New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
Access technology (AT) has the potential to improve lives, but it is often created post- production. This class explores how starting from a disability studies framework generates new forms of media technology by combining a study of history and critical theory of access and inclusion with ideation, design, and production of accessible multi-modal technologies. As a practice-based, intermediate level course, it is designed for students with familiarity in disability studies and/or fabrication, although there are no course pre-requisites.
