Examines theoretical and empirical work on the social, cultural and economic aspects of globalization and their implications for education. Students explore education in light of the emergence of global governance of and markets in the production and distribution of goods, services and labor; new information and communication technologies reshaping the structure and meaning of education, belonging and community; and unprecedented population movements and worldwide migration.
