Catalog description

This course is designed to provide students with introductory hands-on experience working with interactive media art on a specific topic, theme, or technology, as well as provide a critical framework for understanding the subject discussed. The history and theory of the specific topic will be explored in a studio context consisting of experimentation, production, discussion and critical analysis. Students will engage in a series of iterative assignments that will help them both understand and gain hands-on experience with a specific and focused area of interactive media arts. The course will culminate with a final creative work driven by earlier assignment work and represented through a proof-of-concept prototype and presentation.
