In this course students will read extensively in both the secondary literature about the war and in historical records produced in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Amsterdam (in English translation) to produce a 20-25-page research paper based on some element of the Pequot War (1636-1638) and its aftermath. They will learn as they work the historian’s craft of researching and writing about the past.
