Catalog description

Maimonides’ Guide of the Perplexed is the most important work of medieval Jewish philosophy, arguably of all of Jewish philosophy. In this course we'll closely read the text. Some recent scholars have argued that the Guide should be read as a series of “spiritual exercises” leading the reader to spiritual illumination and inner freedom. We'll be studying the text using this framework.
