Academic Yiddish I

Catalog description

Academic Yiddish I is suited for students with basic knowledge of Yiddish who would like to continue language study at the intermediate to advanced level. The syllabus will be developed in conjunction with the students to match their research interests, language levels and language goals to include any or all of the following: intermediate and advanced grammar textbooks, instruction in reading Yiddish handwriting, Yiddish audio and video material, original Yiddish sources of any period and genre, history of Yiddish Studies, conversation practice, guest speakers, field trips.
