This course introduces students to public health from a global perspective, advancing students' understanding of the dynamic nature of global opportunities and threats and how they are affected by globalization. The course uses an ecological model of health to illustrate the impact of education, socioeconomic status, the environment, and political will on the global burden of disease. It introduces the primary actors in global health governance and financing and examines current and future priorities in global health, emphasizing the importance of intersectoral collaboration in addressing complex challenges.
