Biostatistics Culminating Experience

Catalog description

This integrated learning experience course provides Masters students in Biostatistics with a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills to a real-world data challenge. Students will be given a challenge question on the first day of class and split into working groups. The course includes a datathon, where students will work in teams to address a predefined challenge question using public-use datasets. This hands-on experience will foster collaboration, problem-solving, and effective communication of statistical findings. All students must write their own report of their proposed solution to the challenge question. This course fulfills the integrated learning experience requirement for graduation.
