At a time of rapid medical innovation and escalating healthcare costs, making informed decisions about the adoption and use of health technologies is more critical than ever. This course will introduce students to health economic evaluation and health technology assessment – essential tools for evaluating the best use of scarce healthcare resources. Students will learn how ministries of health, advisory bodies, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and global NGOs assess the value of technologies from drugs and devices to complex public health strategies. Through real-world case studies and hands-on exercises, students will gain the skills needed to support high-impact, cost-effective healthcare decisions.
