Catalog description

This is an advanced game design course where students learn different techniques to design a wide variety of puzzles, from word games to jigsaws and mysteries, both in non-digital and digital games. The course will cover different types of puzzles, learn about their history and techniques, and then practice solving and creating their own puzzles. The class will also provide a survey of digital tools that can help facilitate the design process. Students will have to play a variety of puzzles, and analyze their design, as part of developing their critical vocabulary.
