French for Media and Communication

Catalog description

This is an advanced French for Specific Purposes course; all material is in the target language (French). The students will explore contemporary French and Francophone cultures as represented in French media (written press, radio, and TV news). A variety of topics will be covered to offer a cross-section of French-speaking society. Students will also develop their written and spoken French through a critical observation of French media. Students will follow the events of France's and other Francophone media, and participate in discussions on different topics, as they are debated in the media.
