Audio Narrative Podcasting II

Catalog description

Audio Narrative Podcasting is a year-long hybrid class of storytelling (fall semester) and audio production (spring semester). This intermediate-level craft course combines audio and narrative elements with the objective of producing a final multi-part podcast series. All students work collaboratively in groups, wear multiple hats, and expand their storytelling and audio production skills. Serial narrative podcasts are hugely popular, and a growing number of them have made the leap from audio to limited series and feature films such as Homecoming, Welcome to Nightvale, and Lore. Audio Narrative Podcasting allows UGFTV storytellers to bring proof of concept ideas to life with attainable technical and logistical considerations. This class is open to students who want to expand their storytelling abilities through audio, focusing on audio production and the art of sound design in storytelling. Students are encouraged to take this following Writing Audio Narrative Podcasting I but are welcome to join the Spring semester with permission of the instructor.
