Audio Narrative Podcasting is a year-long hybrid class of storytelling (fall semester) and audio production (spring semester). This writing course combines audio and narrative elements with the objective of creating a final multi-part podcast series. Students work collaboratively in groups, wear multiple hats, and expand their storytelling skills. Serial narrative podcasts are hugely popular, and a growing number of them have made the leap from audio to limited series and feature films such as Homecoming, Welcome to Nightvale, and Lore. Audio Narrative Podcasting allows UGFTV storytellers to bring proof of concept ideas to life with easily attainable technical and logistical considerations. This class is open to intermediate-level students reinforcing and expanding storytelling skills focusing on the art and creativity of audio storytelling. Students are strongly encouraged to take this as a year-long course.
