Family Medicine
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Medical students will participate in the full breadth and scope of family medicine in various clinical settings; they will navigate between pediatric, gynecological, and adult patients. A particular focus will be on the biopsychosocial determinants of health and the impact on patient health outcomes. Students will rotate in the outpatient Family Medicine offices on our campus; there is an option for an inpatient week. Students will interview and examine patients, present their findings to teaching attendings. Clinical encounters vary, including but not limited to gynecological care, school physical exams, sports medicine visits, chronic disease care, and urgent care visits. There may be opportunities for home care visits, depending on provider schedule and availability.
