Catalog description

This course teaches the fundamentals of remote sensing as it applies to studying the environment. We first cover satellite mechanics and methods to measure properties of Earth's surface. Students will then learn to manipulate and analyze data in two different geographic information systems (GIS): Google Earth Engine and QGIS. These tools will be used to explore topics of land cover change, natural hazards and human settlement.
