ENVST-UA 307
Methods in Environmental Monitoring
New York University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Environmental data are critical to understanding our world. Though data are increasingly available, the quality and utility of data depend on knowing how they were collected and the assumptions of the sensors used to collect them. Furthermore, low-cost sensors are transforming our ability to measure the environment at higher spatial and temporal scales than ever before. In this course, students will learn the programming needed to work with environmental sensors, design and implement an environmental monitoring project, learn how to document and annotate data and analyses for release on public repositories, and present the results of these projects.
